Discover Galilee Falafel & Shawarma

If you’re driving down Lake Worth Boulevard and craving something bold, fresh, and deeply satisfying, Galilee Falafel & Shawarma at 6116 Lake Worth Blvd suite 400, Lake Worth, TX 76135, United States, is the kind of place you don’t just visit once-you return to. I’ve eaten at plenty of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern spots across Texas, and this one stands out for both flavor and consistency. The first time I stepped in, the aroma of warm pita bread and seasoned meat on the vertical rotisserie hit instantly. That smell alone told me they take their food seriously.

The menu is packed with classics-falafel wraps, chicken shawarma plates, beef and lamb gyro, hummus bowls, and crisp Israeli salads. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate on my first visit, and I watched them shave the meat directly off the spit. That detail matters. When shawarma is sliced fresh instead of pre-cut and reheated, the texture stays juicy inside with slightly crispy edges. The plate came with fluffy rice, creamy garlic sauce, and tangy pickles. According to the National Chicken Council, Americans consume more than 100 pounds of chicken per person annually, but rarely do you taste it this well-marinated and balanced with spices like turmeric, cumin, and paprika.

Falafel lovers won’t feel left out either. Their falafel is golden brown outside and bright green inside-a sign of fresh herbs like parsley and cilantro blended into the chickpea mixture. The texture is light, not dense or dry. In fact, the cooking method reflects what the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics often emphasizes about plant-based meals: when prepared properly, they’re rich in fiber and protein while still being satisfying. Here, the falafel wrap doesn’t feel like a compromise; it feels intentional and hearty.

One thing that impressed me over multiple visits is consistency. I’ve gone during lunch rush and on slower evenings, and the quality hasn’t dipped. The staff moves efficiently behind the counter, assembling plates with precision. You can see the process-pita warmed, protein layered, toppings added in order, sauce drizzled evenly. That assembly line approach isn’t rushed; it’s practiced. It reminds me of how traditional shawarma shops in the Levant operate, where speed meets craftsmanship.

Reviews from locals often mention portion size, and I agree. The servings are generous without being wasteful. If you order a platter, expect enough for leftovers. Families seem comfortable here too. I’ve seen parents ordering a mix of hummus, baba ghanoush, and grilled kebabs to share. The dining area is casual and clean, making it easy to sit down and actually enjoy the meal rather than rushing out.

Nutritionally speaking, Mediterranean cuisine has been widely studied for its benefits. Harvard School of Public Health frequently highlights the Mediterranean diet for its heart-friendly ingredients-olive oil, legumes, lean proteins, and fresh vegetables. While this is still comfort food, you can taste those foundational elements. The olive oil in the hummus is smooth and fragrant. The salads are bright with lemon and herbs. Even the fries, if you go that route, are well-seasoned and crisp.

Of course, like any local restaurant, peak hours can mean a short wait. That’s the only minor drawback I’ve experienced. But honestly, watching your shawarma sliced fresh makes the wait feel justified. Also, menu options may occasionally rotate depending on ingredient availability, which is common in smaller, quality-focused kitchens.

If you’re comparing locations around Lake Worth for Mediterranean food, this spot earns its strong reputation through flavor, authenticity, and straightforward service. Whether you’re picking up takeout, dining in with friends, or exploring Middle Eastern cuisine for the first time, the combination of fresh ingredients, traditional preparation, and generous portions makes it easy to understand why customers keep coming back and leaving positive reviews.

  • I've never in all my dining out, received such impeccable service. From the door, I was offered a complementary cup of hot tea. I placed my order: grilled lamb skewers with a gel salad. I was given a complimentary bowl of lentil soup with a deep fried cheek pea patty. The food was delicious, the service was top tier and the atmosphere gave you amazon. If you are in this area check this place out.

  • Excellent food. We have traveled to the Middle East many times and I can tell you this food taste authentic. My favorite is their tea and the grape leaves. The Chicken shawarma is tender and has a lovely flavor. The rice is fresh and not overheated or dried out. Customer service is great too. We are new to the area and looking forward to come back again.

  • We have been to this location twice (dine-in & take-out) and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. We have tried the chicken, beef, lamb and rice pudding and this place is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots. The lamb is our favorite - tender and well seasoned. The plates are very tasty, the portions are big and the staff are attentive and friendly! We will absolutely be back!

  • First, as vegetarians, any place with a variety of options in the DFW area is greatly appreciated!! My wife and I have been here a number of time. The restaurant is SUPER clean! The food is always great, and the service has always been outstanding. Their falafel is very good. I’d rate it as my 2nd all time favorite falafel (only (narrowly) surpassed by the now defunct Food Shark in Marfa). I’m really glad to see other great reviews, and wish them nothing but success!

  • I want to start by mentioning the absolute kindness of all of the staff from the moment you walk in the door. I was greeted promptly and warmly when I entered, and they were very patient and kind as I explored the options and menu. I ordered the lamb grill bowl with rice, beans, and tahini sauce. Additionally, I ordered the lentil soup and a cheesecake. They offered a complimentary hot tea that was sweet and perfectly paired with the meal. Absolutely everything, and I mean everything, was divine. The lentil soup had the smoothest texture and subtle flavors, while the lamb was cooked to a perfect tender, chewy texture. The spices on the lamb were to complete perfection without any one flavor overwhelming the other, or overwhelming the meat itself. Speaking of the meat, it is very difficult to find halal restaurants at a reasonable price anywhere in or near Fort Worth. You can immediately tell the difference in quality and taste here. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as clear labeling of everything for dietary restrictions including gluten free. The whole restaurant is exceptionally clean and well taken care of, and I feel so grateful to know of such a wonderful spot now. It feels like a hidden gem that you can’t help but to support, and a family business that you can’t wait to see thrive. Thank you for such lovely hospitality, and a delicious meal. Will dine here again.

  • Atmosphere is pleasant, restaurant is super clean, food was good but the meat was over cooked and hard to chew, fries and sauce was amazing. I will try again, it may have just been an off day on the grill. But overall was good and will try it again at some point. I had the gyro.
